Headphones are generally considered symbolic of style and identity, however up to now, gaming headsets were generally bulky and cumbersome devices; more akin to pilots’ headgears than products that fit into the fabric of gamers’ lives.
Together with Logitech’s expert team, Design Partners designed the Logitech G433 Gaming Headset for ‘gaming life’ both inside and outside the game – from the desktop to the streets; all the high-grade features competitive gamers need with unparalleled levels of self-expression for streetwear.
This approach not only gave the gamers a better, personalised product experience, it also unlocked an advantage for Logitech to collaborate with large franchises and professional gaming teams through opportunities of co-branding and special editions, furthering their growth and brand equity in the segment.

Through research into consumer insights we learnt that comfort was one of the primary purchasing drivers for gaming headsets so we created a circumaural solution (enclosing the ears) that answered gamers’ needs with a clear focus on materiality. We studied various new material technologies and tested multi-layer fabrics, additives, and coatings to enhance comfort, durability, and performance.
I cannot deny that the ear pads provide the necessary comfort during long gaming sessions. I did not feel excessive heat whatsoever – realgear.net
Gaming fans all over the world were starting to identify more and more with their favourite eSports gaming teams, and with characters in new game franchises. This insight led to creative explorations into production methods that would allow for mass personalisation and customisation so gamers could better express their personalities through their gear. To achieve this goal, the team needed to find innovative ways to deal with bulky features, such as developing removable microphones, in order to create a headset design platform that enabled exciting new options for gamers around the world.
